Our professional staff is committed to provide the highest quality medical services for our patients as well as preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for our clients.

Dr. Marie G. Lance, DVM CVCP; Hospital Director:

Marie G. Lance, DVM CVCP

Growing up, Dr. Lance knew she would one day be a veterinarian. She began pursuing her goal when attending Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Graduating with a BS degree in Animal Science in 1990, she then attended the University of Georgia College for Veterinary Medicine. Receiving her doctorate in 1994, she has since successfully practiced veterinary medicine in hospitals located in Gwinnett and Hall Counties.
Dr. Lance has lectured at many notable institutions on the subject of animal husbandry for a variety of animal species to include equine, caprine, camelid, feline and canine. She has also served as attending veterinarian at The Pony Club, 4H Club, and various other organizations.
Her special interests lie in the fields of internal and complementary medicine as well as in the advanced field of theriogenology. Dr. Lance is active in the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, the Society for Theriogenology, Australian Cattle Dogs Association of America, and the Australian Shepherd Club of America.
Lance Animal Hospital is the culmination of Dr. Lance’s vision to develop a high tech veterinary center that addresses the unique needs of each individual animal. It is her goal to administer the best care possible by integrating traditional medicine and complementary medicine in order to achieve a healthy, well-balanced pet.




Natural Healing Coordinator:

Davorin GV,CVCP,PMP,LLLP

Davorin completed his veterinary studies at the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1981. Davorin did his postgraduate studies for small animals at the University of Zagreb in Croatia in 1989. He has been involved with small animal veterinary medicine in the United States since 1996. He received his certification in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) in 2000. Davorin has attended many workshops such as Healing Touch for Animals, Small Animal Acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine, an intensive canine pet massage course at the Pet Massage Institute, and an Advance Veterinary Cold Laser therapy course. He also practices energy balancing techniques. In addition to being an active practitioner, he serves as a board member of the International Association of Pet Massage and Bodywork. He uses his expertise and awareness of various healing modalities to help the wellbeing of animals.




Business Administrator:

Carol

Carol is Lance Animal Hospital’s Office Administrator. Carol comes with many years of experience in management and business ownership. She, and her husband Ronnie, owned the Beef Corral restaurants in Gainesville and Oakwood for many years. Carol and Ronnie met Dr. Marie her first week as a new graduate when they called for a veterinarian to come to their farm. Through becoming acquainted with the Lance family Dr. Marie met and married their son, Bryan. Carol has worked as a real estate agent in Hall County for several years. She has always had a love for pets from childhood. She and Ronnie raised Rottweiler’s for over 10 years, quarter horses, and various farm animals that she is knowledgeable about. Carol and Ronnie are very family oriented. They have another son, Chad Lance, who has his own business Lance Gutter Service.




Client Patient Liasion:

Rebecca and Ozzy

Rebecca has always had a love and compassion for animals. She has worked front office operations at two different veterinary practices and has also worked for PetSmart. Rebecca has known Dr. Marie for close to seven years and previously worked with her in another veterinary practice. Rebecca’s daughter Jaclyn is in college pursuing a career in the medical field. Her extended furry family includes Rex – a 12 year old German Shepherd, Ozzy – a Yorkshire Terrier (perhaps Terrorist would be a better word), Vinnie – a cross Yorkie/Chinese Crested Powderpuff, and 2 feline sisters Lucy & Bella.

Operations Manager:

Julie

Julie has been very fond of animals since a very young age. She grew up assisting her grandfather on his farm that was residence to many animals of all sizes. Since the tender age of 4, Julie has been showing Saddlebred horses. She met Dr. Lance at the age of 9, and from that point forward, training ensued to prepare Julie for the veterinary field. She has an interest in the rehabilitation of small and large animals and has an special affinity for large canines. Julie has been working in the veterinary field for 9 years. Some of her past non-veterinary achievements include holding a black belt in karate since the age of 17 and having traveled to Europe with the Georgia Music Ambassadors in the summer of 2001. In Julie’s time away from the clinic she co-owns and manages a 120 acre equine boarding facility, and spends time with her husband of 6 years and beautiful 2 year old daughter.


Registered Veterinary Nurse:

Shelly, RVT

Shelly is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been in this field for 14 years. Shelly has a geriatric cat, named Ciggy, that is 21 years old. She is originally from Florida, where she earned her degree as a Veterinary Technician. In her spare time Shelly enjoys baking goodies and usually shares with us here Lance Animal Hospital. Shelly is always professional and is also a lot of fun. Shelly is happy living here in Georgia with her husband, Sean, and little boy, Trystan.








Veterinary Assistants:

Tiffany

Tiffany comes to Lance Animal Hospital from Florida, where she worked several positions in animal healthcare as a kennel technician. Tiffany works very hard here at Lance Animal Hospital, and fills the position of Vet Tech Assistant and Kennel Tech. She has become a valuable asset by learning the front office positions as well as assisting the techs. Tiffany has three dogs: Bobo – a mastiff mix, her beautiful Baxter – a Pekingese, and Princess – her Chihuahua.
